The Plot

George is busy homeschooling his stepdaughter, Madi. But they're interrupted when a social worker, Sean, checks on them, due to a tip from a concerned neighbor. George is nervous, especially as Madi innocently joins him at the door, but allows Sean inside to talk. As Sean asks Madi some questions, he learns that she's incredibly naive and that there's definitely more to the story than they're letting on... Marcus and Claire are a down-on-their-luck couple, having hit a string of bad luck recently which has left them without a place to live. Luckily, their college professor, Frank, has agreed to let them stay with him at his home. They assure him that they'll be back on their feet in no time. But as the days go by, the couple soon finds that Frank's open-door policy is a bit more intense than they initially expected.
